Our conference will be held at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign* (campus map: PDF or Explore). Our main session will be held at the State Farm Center (SFC). We will stay in five dormitories and eat in two cafeterias. Below is the map to those buildings. *ISBC 2023 is neither sponsored nor endorsed by the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.

*Note that UBF Checkin will be held in the State Farm Center, West Entrance (pictured here). See General Information & Policy for more information on checkin.
We have classified the participants into two groups from the point of housing: Regular and Family. Any parents who bring children to the conference belongs to Family. The children are those in high school or under. Consequently, all the other participants belong to Regular. For this reason, the registration site asks you to choose your group at the start. Each choice determines a unique path. If you choose Regular, you have the option to choose your roommate. If you choose Family, you have the option to add your children that are automatically recognized as your roommates.
Participant’s choice during the registration
The two groups are defined for the sake of housing. A typical example is a college student who brings his friend to the conference. They want to stay together in one room. Both choose Regular and designate each other as a roommate. Consider a couple with no children. They are a family, but they belong to the group Regular. Each spouse registers on their own. Consider a family with four children: two teenage boys, one teenage girl and one baby girl. The family has many options.

Room Assignment Manager (RAM) will review their entries and assign a bed for each accordingly.
Room assignment policy
We have contracted enough beds to accommodate you all. RAM makes every effort to deliver your room request. If you have a special request, you are welcome to use ‘Contact Us’ to share it. At the same time, RAM is restricted by several constraints. They set their policy to provide every participant with one bed under those constraints. Their priority is safety when one floor has only public bath. Their priority is Family over Regular. They also consider other exceptional cases such as disabled people, people with health issue, messengers or conference workers who need to stay close to State Farm Center. This may cause some participants not to get their request. For example, a couple in their thirties have no children or does not bring their children to the conference. Both registered as Regular. They want to stay together and request each other as roommates. That is a legitimate request. If RAM does not find a room to accommodate their request, however, RAM will ask them to stay separately: one on mens’ floor and the other on womens’ floor. If so, please understand their constraints and comply with their instruction.
**For those assigned to PAR residence halls, it is recommended to drive to/from the State Farm Center due to the distance of almost 1 mile. Parking is available in Lot F23 near PAR & at the Northwest and Southwest lots of State Farm Center. We will also run 15 passenger vans to/from State Farm Center from PAR for those who do not have a car. Note, all other residence halls are about a 10 minute walk so no passenger vans will pickup at those locations.
